Families and Children

On any given Sunday, you just never know what will be going on in Church School at St. Pauls. You may find kids making prayer pretzels in the kitchen, planting bulbs in the garden, designing puppets for a show, taking a field trip to the Ba’hai Temple, sorting groceries for Thanksgiving Baskets, making signs for a bake sale, gathering together for joys and concerns, rehearsing for a Christmas play, and so on! There is always a lot of singing, too.

Church School

Church School begins the Sunday after Labor Day and continues through the Sunday before Memorial Day Weekend. Regular class time is from 10:00-11:00 AM.

There are nine classes:

  • Primary Class for 2 & 3 year-olds meets in the Rainbow Room off the Social Hall.
  • Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten Class meets in the Green Room at the east end of the Social Hall.
  • 1st/2nd Grade Class meets on the main floor between the office and the Chapel.
  • 3rd/4th Grade Class meets in an upstairs classroom over the Parlor.
  • 5th/6th Grade Class meets on the top floor next to the Choir Room.
  • 7th Grade Class meets in the Blue Room on the ground floor.
  • 8th Grade/Confirmation I class meets in Meeting Room I in the Confirmation Youth Center on the top floor.
  • 9th Grade/Confirmation II class meets in Meeting Room II in the Confirmation Youth Center on the top floor.
  • 10th-12th Grade Forum meets in the High School Lounge on the main floor.

Children and babies under the age of two are welcome in the Nursery -- both during Church School and during Worship. St. Pauls has a long-standing Safe Sanctuary policy. Staff and volunteers who work with children and youth have background checks on file.
