Except for a brief summer hiatus, the choir participates in worship every Sunday and at special services throughout the church year. Both classical and contemporary anthems are performed as well as music from many cultures such as African-American spirituals, Gospel music, German chorales, and Jewish liturgical pieces. Twice a year, the choir performs a major choral work. Recent examples include Faure's Requiem, Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, and Rutter's Gloria.Chancel Choir Director: Kurt R. Hansen, music director

Dedicated in 1959, Saint Pauls' Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ was the gift of Margaret Sexton, who also endowed a fund for its maintenance. The impressive instrument has been played by many well-known musicians, including Virgil Fox, Jean Langlais, Catherine Crozier and Marie-Claire Alain. It has 100 ranks over 4 manuals and pedal. It has over 5,000 pipes and has sister organs in the Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago and the Alice Millar Chapel at Northwestern University. Its divisions include the great, positive, and pedal in the south chancel chamber, the swell and choir in the north chancel chamber, and a freestanding antiphonal division with Trompette-en-chamade on the balcony wall. Kevin Dzierzawski has served as organist of St. Pauls United Church of Christ since July, 2005.
