ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCE GROUP

God calls us to care for creation. The careful use of earth's resources is a way of responding to that call. The Environmental Resource Group (ERG) is a sub-committee of the Faith and Public Issues Task Force that supports the St. Pauls community in caring for God's creation through education, action and advocacy.  To get on the email list for ERG activities contact Ann Brinkman ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Volunteers Needed!

The Environmental Resource Group is recruiting volunteers to help recycle paper, plastic, glass and cardboard in the meantime. The task is easy! You just need access to a vehicle and then follow these 3 simple steps:

1. After worship, locate the recyclables which are in two large blue bins by the door that leads out to the alley and St. Pauls parking lot. If you don't know how to access this entrance/exit, ask one of the maintenance staff on duty that day.

2. Load the recyclables into your vehicle through the door that leads out to the alley (you are welcome to park your car at this entrance/exit for the few minutes it will take to load the recycling materials). Ensure the door is closed securely when you leave.

3. Dispose of the recyclables at a Chicago Recycling Drop-Off Center -- NO sorting required. The closest center to St. Pauls is the Peggy Notebaert Museum, located at 2430 N. Cannon Drive (just a few blocks down Fullerton). Other locations can be found at the City of Chicago website.

BOOK NOOK:  The Book Nook, in the northeast corner of the Social Hall, has takes donations of gently used books and magazines.  Be sure to stop by and pick up a few for your last of indoor winter reading - spring, and the time for beach novels, has to be around the corner!  Donations also welcome!
