Faith and Public Issues Conversation

How does our faith call us to interact with the issues we read about in the papers and see on TV? We delve deeply into current societal challenges in a 1-3/4 hour conversation following the worship service three times a year. Each conversation provides an opportunity for action in the world. Attend a conversation or join the planning task group that charts the direction for future conversations.

Our next Roundtable: APRIL 17, 2016 ROUNDTABLE ON REFUGEE ISSUES: Learn about the causes of the refugee movements facing the world today, including the roots of the current crisis in the Middle East and the mass migration of displaced populations toward Europe. This event will also include discussion of the U.S. refugee resettlement program, and Illinois' proud tradition of welcoming refugees. This discussion will provide context for the commitment by St. Paul's to help resettle a refugee family in Chicago this spring. (See Outreach section below to learn how to join that initiative.)

Scott Hibbard of DePaul University and Tara Magner of the MacArthur Foundation will present. We will hold discussions after each of the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services.
